This morning I was notified that organ player/legend Jimmy Smith has died, at the age of 78 if I'm right.
Only 2 or 3 years ago he recorded 'Dot com blues' for Verve, of which I know some tunes.
Of course he's not a jazz vocalist, but anyway, he was a jazz great.
